The Seoul Defense Dialogue is a multilateral security forum hosted by the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Korea, under the banner of ‘Cooperation for Security and Peace’. It aims to enhance the global security cooperation and peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Since its initial launch in 2012, the SDD has evolved into a prominent platform where high-level defense officials and security experts from the globe gather annually to address pressing security issues and multilateral cooperation.
Beginning in 2023, the level of participation in SDD was elevated from vice ministerial-level to ministerial-level. At the 13th SDD in 2024, ministerial-level officials from 8 countries along with representatives from 70 nations participated in constructive and meaningful discussions.
In order to respond to the increasingly complex global security landscape, the global solidarity and cooperation are more crucial than ever. The Seoul Defense Dialogue will continue to serve as a platform for dialouge that not only addresses security challenges on the Korean Peninsula but also contributes to global peace.
